The 14th Meeting of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body

The 14th meeting of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body was held in Belgrade on 11 March 2011. The meeting was organised by the ERI SEE Interim Secretariat, Centre for Education Policy (CEP). In total 36 participants, members of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body or their replacements and the ERI SEE Interim Secretariat took part to the meeting.

On this occasion Serbian Minister of Education and Science Dr. Zarko Obradovic officially assumed the position of the Chair of the ERI SEE Governing Board from his Croatian colleague Minister of Science, Education and Sports Dr. Radovan Fuchs. Minister Obradovic expressed his sincere gratitude to Croatia for its successful chairmanship of the ERI SEE in the past years. He stressed the weight of such a significant regional initiative, and expressed happiness on the part of his country for having an opportunity to assume this role that will enable Serbia to continue to promote necessary educational reforms. Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and the Task Force Fostering and Building Human Capital assumed the role of Co-chairs of the ERI SEE.

At the occasion of 14th Meeting of ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative body, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Sredoje Novic, signed the protocol by way of which his country has officially joined the Memorandum of Understanding on the Role and Organization of the ERI SEE. With signing the protocol, Bosnia and Herzegovina reaffirmed its commitment to the regional cooperation in educational reform. Bosnia and Herzegovina has become the seventh country from the SEE region to join the effort to implement sustainable educational reform within the ERI SEE framework.  

The Memorandum of Understanding was originally signed on June 2010 by Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia at Council of Europe Ministerial Conference in Brdo, Slovenia. Republic of Moldova entered the ERI SEE Memorandum of Understanding in January 2011.
