Western Balkans Summit 2019: 3-5 July 2019, Poznań

The sixth annual summit within the Berlin Process Initiative for European integration of Western Balkans states was held between 3rd and 5th of July 2019 in Poznań.

Heads of Governments, Foreign Ministers, Ministers of Economy and Interior from the Western Balkans, together with their counterparts from several EU Member States and high-level EU representatives gathered with an aim to strengthen regional cooperation between the Western Balkans partners, as well as between the region and the EU, and to further advance the European integration process of the Western Balkans. The Leaders unanimously reaffirmed their unequivocal support for the European perspective of the Western Balkans.

The main topics of this gathering were focused on the following areas: transport and energy, digital, economy, security and good neighbourly relations. On the Leaders’ Summit held on July 5th, The Declaration on Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications, which sets forward an automatic recognition model for higher education qualifications and study periods spent abroad, was endorsed. The Declaration was the result of the work of the RCC – ERI SEE Joint Working Group for Recognition of Academic Qualifications.
