Education and Training for the Economy 4.0: Digital Skills and Competences, 18th-19th November 2019, Vienna
On the occasion of KulturKontakt Austria’s 30th anniversary, the regional workshop on Education and Training for the Economy 4.0 was held on 18th – 19th November 2019 in Vienna. The workshop followed the last-year’s discussions on the future of Vocational Education and Training in Europe and in the Western Balkans, held in the framework of the Austrian EU Presidency.
Given the fact that Cedefop’s European Skills and Jobs survey has revealed that about 43% of EU adult employees recently experienced new technologies at work, and that bout seven in ten EU workers require at least moderate digital skills to do their job, and given that the WBA4WBL is currently in the process of developing regionally based occupational standards, this regional workshop connected the current regional developments with the real needs.
The workshop focused on how to identify evolving digital skills needs in order to ensure that occupational standards reflect the latest trends in the labour markets and provided the opportunity to share experience how vocational education and training can meet these new skills needs and use the potential of digital learning environments.
The event gathered the participants from the SEE region upon invitation from KulturKontakt Austria.
