Further developments of SELIFE tool
Throughout 2021 the Joint Research Centre, in association with the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG-EAC) and with the contribution of the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG-EMPL) undertook a number of activities to further develop SELFIE – a free, easy-to-use, customisable tool to help schools assess where they stand with learning in the digital age.
Thus, the new Work-Based Learning module of the SELFIE tool was launched during the Second SELFIE Forum held on 7th and 8th October 2021, in on-line format. This multi-stakeholder Forum, opened by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, gathered education policy-makers, school leaders, teachers, students, trainers, national coordinators, researchers, practitioners and future potential users and saw the official launch of the new module Selfie for Work Based Learning.
This new module is aimed at bringing Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and companies closer in discussing jointly how they can embed digital technologies in education and training.
Another new tool SELFIEforTEACHERS was also developed and presented during the Forum. SELFIEforTEACHERS is a self-reflection tool designed to support the development of the teachers’ digital skills inside and outside of the school.
