5th Meeting of the Western Balkans Platform on Education and Training held in Sarajevo on 27 – 28th June 2016

The European Commision organised a two-day meeting with the education ministers of the Western Balkans on 27th and 28th of June 2016, in Sarajevo. This fifth meeting of the Western Balkans Platform on Education and Training (WB PET) included representatives from the governments of:

WESTERN BALKANS ALLIANCE FOR WORK-BASED LEARNING

On 18th  and 19th May 2016 the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Austrian Development Agency, Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, Federal Ministry of Education and Women’s Affairs, Austrian Federal Ministry of Europe, Integration, and Foreign Affairs, and KulturKontakt Austria, hosted a conference in Vienna on the subject of company- and practice-oriented high-quality vocational education and training, within the Framework of the Berlin Process and oriented at the Western Balkans Alliance for work-based learning.

ANNOUNCEMENT: 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Western Balkans Platform on Education and Training

5th Ministerial Meeting of the Western Balkans Platform on Education and Training which will take place on 27-28th June 2016 in Sarajevo. The Ministerial meeting will focus on both priorities identified by the Platform from its outset: higher education and teacher training.

On the first day the Ministers will present progress on reforming teacher education and training. On the second day the Commission will present the findings of a mapping study on the relevance of higher education provision in terms of employment opportunities for graduates.

8th MEETING OF THE SEE 2020 COORDINATION BOARD

On 13th May 2016 the Regional Cooperation Council organized the 8th meeting of the SEE 2020 Coordination Board in Vienna.

The meeting offered opportunities to discuss the Annual Report on Implementation (ARI) as well as to present the overview of the SEE 2020 monitoring process, data collection and lessons learned.
