The first step towards developing regionally based qualification standard was taken within the framework of the TO REGOS project. The VET agencies and chambers of commerce from six Western Balkan economies led by the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe – ERI SEE Secretariat developed Feasibility Study on Developing Regionally Based Standards of Qualifications that looked into the possibility of developing regionally based qualification standards. The study’s positive conclusion led to the development of the Methodology for the Developing Regionally-based Standards of Qualifications.
The Enhancements in the Quality of Education and Training in South Eastern Europe – EQET SEE project kickstarted in 2021 with the goal to test the Methodology and, for the first time in the Western Balkan region, develop regionally based qualification standards. The standards will be developed based on the regionally based occupational standards that are also being developed within the EQET SEE project: the agriculture technician of traditional and organic cultivation regionally based occupational standard locksmith occupational standard.
More about the ongoing activities towards developing the regionally based qualification standards is available on the EQET SEE project website.
