BuildSkills Academy Event on Skills for the Green and Digital Transition of the Construction Sector
The Centre for Circular Economy – CirEkon, within the BuildSkills Academy project, is organising an event dedicated to the development of skills and competences needed for the green and digital transition of the construction sector, with the support of the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE).
The event will take place on 25 September 2026, from 09:00 to 13:00, at VirtuHub, Cara Uroša 18, Belgrade, Serbia. The preliminary agenda can be downloaded here.
The event will focus on the role of circular economy, sustainable construction and efficient resource management in the transformation of the construction sector, with particular attention to the development of competences needed to respond to the changing needs of the labour market and the green transition.
A particular focus will be placed on the development of professional competences required for the application of circular economy and sustainable construction principles, as well as on opportunities for upskilling and reskilling employees in the construction sector.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the BuildSkills Academy project and its available resources (methodology, tools and 12 enriched courses), as well as to exchange information on opportunities for their use.
The event will bring together representatives of education and training institutions, VET centres and training providers, the construction and related sectors, chambers of commerce, clusters and professional associations, public institutions and local authorities, academia, innovation organisations and civil society organisations.
The event will also present concrete opportunities for educational institutions, companies, chambers of commerce, public institutions and professional organisations to engage in BuildSkills Academy activities.
The event will be held in English, with interpretation into Serbian provided.
Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required due to the limited number of places.

The event will provide an opportunity for networking and exchange among relevant stakeholders, as well as for exploring how the development of professional competences in circular economy and sustainable construction can contribute to addressing the needs of the construction sector and the labour market.
