Continued Support To VET Modernisation Process In The Western Balkans By The EQET SEE Project

Continued support to VET modernisation process in the Western Balkans by the EQET SEE project

The Enhancements in the quality of education and training in South Eastern Europe – the EQET SEE project partners, coordinated by the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe – ERI SEE Secretariat, continued efforts to support the modernisation and increasing the relevance of the vocational education and training (VET) in Western Balkans by developing socially and environmentally sustainable qualification standards and related teaching and learning materials.

For the first time in the WB region, vocational education and training and qualification agencies, and chambers of commerce from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia together with representatives of schools and companies, collaborated to develop regional education material, more precisely teaching and learning material, and work-based learning guidelines. Education material was based on the EQET SEE regionally based qualification standards: agricultural technician of traditional and organic cultivation and locksmith. While the previous year laid the groundwork by defining the methodology behind the regional education material development, 2024 marked the publication of agricultural technician teaching and learning material and work-based learning guidelines, studies and guidelines on social sustainability, gender equity, and environmental sustainability and the development of locksmith core education material.

Working groups consisting of nominated national experts coordinated by Mr Igor Nikolov of the high school Koco Racin – Sveti Nikole and Mr Ridvan Zeqiri of the Centre for Vocational Education and Training of Republic of North Macedonia, produced the following material, in cooperation with other experts from the Western Balkans (agriculture: Albert Kopali, Radiša Mikarić, Dejan Milunović, Bekë Mulaj, Mustafa Pendić and Veljko Tomić, locksmith: Dr Milica Gerasimović, Evgjeni Sinanaj, Ahmet Pelko, Nebojša Vuković and MSc.
