ERI SEE and RCC Launch Work on a Regional Roadmap for VET Learning Mobility, 8 October 2026, Online

The Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE) has been engaged by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) to support the implementation of Activity 4.2.8 of the Common Regional Market Action Plan 2025–2028 through the development of a Regional Roadmap for Enhancing VET Learning Mobility in the Western Balkans Six (WB6) for 2027–2029.

An online kick-off meeting was held on 8 October 2026, bringing together Ulpiana Lama, Expert on Human Capital Development at RCC, Sandra Brkanović, Director of the ERI SEE Secretariat, and Marina Papović, Project Coordinator at the ERI SEE Secretariat. The meeting marked the start of the assignment and focused on its scope, methodology and next steps towards developing the Regional Roadmap and a Draft Regional Agreement on Cooperation in VET Learning Mobility.

The assignment will build on existing initiatives and stakeholder input to identify practical priorities and actions for strengthening VET learning mobility across the WB6. The findings will inform a Regional Roadmap setting out priorities and practical actions for 2027–2029, alongside a Draft Regional Agreement to support cooperation among the Ministries of Education and other relevant institutions across the region.

The SEE VET Net meeting in Belgrade on 15–16 October 2026 will provide an additional opportunity to gather practitioners’ perspectives through a dedicated workshop on VET learning mobility on 16 October. This input will complement the wider research and consultation process.

Through this assignment, ERI SEE and RCC aim to contribute to more accessible and systematic VET learning mobility and strengthen regional cooperation across the Western Balkans.
