ERI SEE and the Qualifications Agency Discuss Strengthening Regional Cooperation
As part of the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE)’s continued efforts to strengthen cooperation with relevant institutions and partners across the region, Sandra Brkanović, Director of ERI SEE, met with Časlav Mitrović, Director of the Qualifications Agency of the Republic of Serbia, and Ivana Čvorović Plavšić, Assistant Director, on 15 September 2026.
The visit coincided, by chance, with the 8th anniversary of the establishment of the Qualifications Agency. Discussions focused on opportunities to further develop cooperation between ERI SEE and the Agency, particularly in the area of qualifications development at the regional level, exchange of expertise and experience, and stronger links among institutions working on qualifications across South Eastern Europe. In this context, the importance of connecting national qualifications systems was emphasised, particularly in light of changing labour market needs and increasing mobility across the region.
An important part of the discussion focused on cooperation within the SEE VET Net network, which brings together institutions and experts in vocational education and training from across the region. The upcoming activities of the network were discussed, including opportunities for the Qualifications Agency to contribute its expertise and experience to regional initiatives and exchanges.
The conversation also covered future ERI SEE activities in the field of qualifications and potential areas for joint action, with the aim of supporting more coherent and responsive qualifications and VET systems and further strengthening regional cooperation.
ERI SEE highly values the support and partnership of the Qualifications Agency and appreciates its active contribution to ERI SEE’s regional activities and initiatives. Both sides expressed their interest in continuing and further developing this cooperation and in exploring concrete opportunities for joint activities in the period ahead.
ERI SEE congratulates the Qualifications Agency on its 8th anniversary and looks forward to continued cooperation and partnership in the years ahead.
