ERI SEE developed a Study on teacher education and training needs analysis systems in South Eastern Europe

ERI SEE developed a Study on teacher education and training needs analysis systems in South Eastern Europe, in cooperation with the European Training Foundation (ETF), collecting evidence and describing current status in continuous professional developments of teachers as well as how their needs are identified and met. The Study took into account the situation in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, also giving regional comparison of various approaches. In addition, the Study listed a number of recommendations that will be taken into account for planning further regional cooperation and enhancements. The Study was realized with the financial contribution of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Macedonia and is available here.

As the second phase of this Study, European Training Foundation, with ERI SEE as a partner, launched a Study focusing particularly on digital skills – relevant in the times of COVID-19 pandemic, but also beyond that. The Study on digital skills is currently being implemented in 5 economies of the Western Balkans (Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia). It is researching the digital skills owned by the teachers in the region, the digital skills provided by existing courses and CPD programmes, and is adjusting the Digital Competence Framework for Educators, the European Commission tool, for the use in the Western Balkans, to help teachers self-assess their level of digital literacy, with constructive feedback.
