ERI SEE Participated in the “Keeping Up with the Future of Construction” Event, Belgrade, 25 September 2026
On 25 September 2026, the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE) participated in the event “Keeping Up with the Future of Construction”, organised within the framework of the BuildSkills Academy (BSA) Erasmus+ project in Belgrade, Serbia.
The event brought together representatives of education, industry and relevant institutions to discuss the impact of the green and digital transitions on the construction sector and the changing skills needs of the labour market.
Sandra Brkanović, representing ERI SEE, opened the event, introducing the key themes of the gathering and highlighting the importance of cooperation among relevant stakeholders in addressing emerging skills needs. The programme included discussions on green skills in construction, circular economy and waste management, and the development of future-oriented skills in response to changing labour-market demands.
The programme also featured a panel discussion entitled “Digital and Green Transition – EU Towards Our Region”, focusing on future skills, the BSA response to emerging trends, the accreditation process, the BSA methodology and project results.
The panel brought together representatives of several relevant institutions and organisations, including Lidija Matijaš from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Ivana Čvorović Plavšić from the Qualifications Agency of the Republic of Serbia. The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the development and recognition of future skills and on the role of education, qualification and labour-market stakeholders in responding to the green and digital transition.
ERI SEE’s participation in the event contributed to the exchange of experiences and perspectives on skills development and the role of regional cooperation in addressing emerging labour-market needs.
The event concluded with a discussion on the next steps and opportunities for continued cooperation among stakeholders working towards the development of future skills in the construction sector.
