ETF DARYA project: Regional cooperation on skills and qualifications in Central Asia, Bishkek, Kyrgystan, 15 – 17 October 2025

From 15 – 17th October 2024 as a part of the DARYA project, ETF organized an event in Bishkek, Kyrgysztan, focusing on projecting sustainable scenarios of cooperation on qualification and skills for the region of Central Asia.

The meeting built on the results of a DARYA regional feasibility study that researched on the ongoing economic, political and social collaboration in Central Asia. The results show an increase in intraregional trade and multicountry sectoral collaboration, and intensification of political will in the region to unpack the regional potential and identity.

Focus group discussions with Central Asian stakeholders identified a willingness to intensify collaboration and transparency of skills and qualifications, such as create a Regional qualifications framework, develop common frameworks and resources for quality assurance of qualifications, set up partnerships and enact peer learning of professionals in education and training.

ERI SEE contributed to the event by sharing its practices on establishing, formalizing, expanding and ensuring sustainability of regional cooperation in the South Eastern Europe.
