Project Launch Conference GREEN AGENDA: DECARBONISATION of the Electricity Sector in the Western Balkans, 13-15 November 2023, Budva, Montenegro
The launching conference for the project Green Agenda: Decarbonisation of the Electricity Sector in the Western Balkans was organised between 13 and 15 November 2023, in Budva, Montenegro. The conference gathered over 80 stakeholders from the Western Balkans’ electricity sector, decisionmakers and international partners to jointly start this regional project.
The conferences main objectives were to familiarise participants with the project’s approach and goals, to create a common understanding in between NAT participants of electricity sector of WB economies on common challenges and solutions in energy transition and to identify areas of regional cooperation for joint exploring and learning about (i) technological solutions for RE grid integration and (ii) options for conducive regulatory framework RE.
The project Decarbonization of the Electricity Sector in the Western Balkans aims at responding to the increasing demand by the key actors in the electricity sector for the technological, regulatory and HR solutions for the implementation of an environmentally and climate-friendly energy transition. The project foresees the threefold action related to (1) renewable energy grid integration, (2) renewable energy regulatory framework, and (3) promoting technical and vocational education and training for renewable energy services.
The ERI SEE will be coordinating the implementation of the third project’s component: promoting TVET for renewable energy services.
