When Green Meets VET: Creating Sustainable Opportunities for the Future with the Help of VET, 26-27 November 2024, Vienna, Austria
The conference When Green Meets VET Creating Sustainable Opportunities for the Future with the Help of VET was jointly organised by ERI SEE and the OeAD within the framework of the Western Balkans Alliance for Work-based Learning and in cooperation with the Western Balkans Chambers Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) as the continuation of the cooperation between the OeAD and the ERI SEE.
The conference was organised on 26 and 27 November 2024 in Vienna, Austria. It aimed at joining stakeholders from South Eastern Europe and create a platform for addressing the growing impact of environmental changes and green transition on educational provision and at discussing the ways of integrating sustainability principles into VET practices.
The conference was opened by Mr Jakob Calice of the OeAD and Mr Eduard Staudecker of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. Participants were also greeted by Ms Tina Šarić, Director of the ERI SEE, Ms Ejvsi Gishti, the SEE VET Net Chair and NAVETQ General Director, and Mr Mladen Perazić of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro on behalf of the WB6 CIF.
Mr Marc Olefs, of the Geosphere Austria and Mr Felix Ambros of the Thinkubator, Association for Research and Implementation of sustainable Solutions (download presentation) delivered keynote presentations on green transition, climate change and concept, history and future developments of green skills.
Representatives of ministries responsible for vocational education and training (VET), VET and qualification agencies and chambers of commerce from the WB6 had the opportunity to discuss the green transition and the development of green skills and to exchange information on institutional activities and developments and plan future regional collaboration. Guided discussion on supporting sustainable practices in VET and the development of green skills was led by Ms Tina Šarić of the ERI SEE (download presentation).
