First regional meeting for the development of the regionally based qualification standard for agricultural technician of traditional and organic cultivation

Following the development of the regionally based Agricultural technician of traditional and organic cultivation occupational standard (ATTOOS) within the Enhancements in the quality of education and training in SEE – EQET SEE the EQET SEE project partners preceded towards developing the first regionally based qualification standard (QS) for the Agricultural technician of traditional and organic cultivation (ATTOQS). 

For the first time in the region of Western Balkan, the representatives of the VET and qualification agencies from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia started the development of the regionally based qualification standard by meeting in Budva, Montenegro between 04 and 05 July 2022. The meeting was attended by the total of 22 participants, education and business experts from the EQET SEE economies who worked on the development of the Agricultural technician of traditional and organic cultivation occupational standard.

The first day of the meeting was attended by two nominated participants from each EQET SEE economy, the ERI SEE Secretariat project team, Ms Tina Šarić, director of the ERI SEE Secretariat and the EQET SEE project manager, Ms Ivana Živadinović, Regional Project Coordinator and Ms Mirjana Janovac, Financial Manager, and Ms Maja Jukić external expert for the qualification standard development. The main goal of the first day of the meriting was to discuss the fine-tuning of the Methodology for the Developing Regionally-based Standards of Qualifications and to make the first steps towards developing the regionally based ATTOQS. During the second day, education experts from EQET SEE economies were joined by the agriculture sector experts who worked on the development of the ATTOOS. Led by external expert, Ms Maja Jukić, EQET SEE education and business experts started their work on developing the first regionally based qualification standard.

The finalisation of the first regionally based qualification standard is expected for the 2022 calendar year through the series of regional meetings after which each economy will work on its national validation.
